Certified Food Protection Manager Training - July 6, 2026, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. $200.
Proctored test available in Fairbanks only, 5-6:30. $50.

A certified food protection manager (CFPM) is responsible for monitoring & managing all food establishment operations to ensure the facility complies with food establishment regulations. Alaska regulations require food establishments to have at least one CFPM on staff. Please contact Leslie Shallcross at lashallcross@alaska.edu or call 907-474-2426 for more information.
Cooperative Extension will offer the Certified Food Protection Manager training via video-conference or in person at the Community and Technical College, 604 Barnette St., Fairbanks. Those taking the training in Fairbanks can also take the test afterward and must select the proctor fee when registering. Participants in other communities will need to make arrangements for proctoring at UAF/UAA campuses, such as Mat-Su, Kenai Peninsula, University of Alaska Southeast and Kodiak. Testing for this certification is computer-based after the training, or within one week, depending on proctor’s schedule in your community. Cost of $200 includes class and study guide. Proctor and test is an additional $50. 
For cancellations: a 100% refund will be issued to the payer if the training book has not yet been mailed to the participant 14 days before class. Cancellation requested in writing for this program up to 14 days prior to the class, will be refunded 90% when the original sealed new CFPM book is returned to the Tanana District Cooperative Extension offices at 604 Barnette St. Fairbanks. If the book has been opened from its sealing and/or not returned only 40% will be refunded. No refunds will be given if cancellation is after 14 days prior to class.
